Lavendar Graduation

Lavender Graduation

Each year, Lavender Graduation is open to all students graduating in May of that year or earlier who openly identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual or allies. It celebrates the achievements of undergraduate and graduate students who are part of our LGBTQ+ campus, and also gives awards to faculty, staff or administrators who have enhanced the campus climate for LGBTQ+ students. Students receive a certificate and rainbow cord to wear with their academic regalia during commencement and an invitation to join the LGBTQ+ Alumni Chapter.

In 2019, SDSU's Lavender Graduation celebrated 10 years! Read the SDSU NewsCenter story.

16th Annual Lavender Graduation

The Pride Center and the LGBTQ+ Studies Program invite you to the 16th annual SDSU Lavender Graduation where we will honor and celebrate the academic and personal journeys of undergraduate and graduate 2SLGBTQIA+ students and allies graduating during the 2024-2025 academic year.

Students who participate will receive a certificate and rainbow cord to wear with their regalia during the SDSU commencement ceremony.

More information for the 2025 ceremony is coming soon!

The Lavender Graduation ceremony is voluntary and is open to all graduating students who would like to participate, regardless of race, sex, color, ethnicity or national origin.
